Branches Katy Outpatient Mental Health: Why Choose Us?
Branches Katy provides outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults who need continued mental health assistance from licensed counselors. Full-time and part-time day treatment options are available Monday through Friday for adults, adolescents (age 13-17) and children (age 6-12). Lunch and snacks are provided. Our therapists are available by appointment to provide confidential level-of-care assessments that are required prior to treatment.
Partial hospitalization programs for adolescents and adults are overseen by a physician, nursing staff and therapists. An intensive outpatient program is offered in the afternoons.
West Oaks outpatient clinics are located in modern professional buildings that provide local residents an opportunity to access mental health treatment in the least restrictive environment close to home.
The clinics accept most insurance plans, Medicare, employee assistance programs or credit cards for payment of services. See our financial counselor for financial arrangements and insurance benefits.

Outpatient Mental Health Levels of Care
Branches Katy offers two levels of outpatient care in all our programs, including our women’s mental health program. You get structured support in a setting that fits your stage of recovery.
Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
PHP is our full-time program and provides care every weekday. Adults attend sessions in the mornings from 8 a.m. to noon. Children and teens meet from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
IOP is our part-time option. It meets from 10 a.m. to noon for adults and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for children and teens, providing focused support for mental health challenges. This format makes it easier to stay connected to care while balancing daily responsibilities, such as school and work

Branches Katy Outpatient Mental Health: What to Expect
Outpatient mental health care combines different types of support to help you or your loved one make progress.
Care typically includes:
- Group therapy: Share experiences with fellow participants, explore what’s causing your symptoms and learn new coping strategies.
- Individual therapy: Meet one-on-one with a therapist to work on your goals and challenges.
- Medication management: If mental health medications may help you, we monitor your response and make adjustments as needed.
- Family involvement: Sessions with family members may help strengthen communication and reinforce progress at home.
- Coordination with schools: For children and teens, we provide documentation to help school staff support your child’s progress outside of treatment.
- Discharge planning: Before completing treatment, we connect you with follow-up care, including mental health providers in the community, so you have continued support.
For adults, if illness or unexpected circumstances prevent you from coming in, telehealth may be available as a short-term option so you don’t miss treatment.
